Waxes are safer material for coating paper cups, but not for hot coffee !

Even through all waxes are organic compounds, both synthetic and naturally occurring, they are not the ideal material for coating hot drink paper cup due to their melt above 45 °C (113 °F). According to the Wikipedia website. Usually, the hot drinks temperature like coffee is between 160 degree to 185 which is much higher than the melting point of wax 113 degree. 
Conclusion: it is not a solution for the unsafe coffee paper cup :(
